Leslie understands the emotional hardship of those experiencing the end of a marriage or the loss of a loved one, as she has suffered through tragedies of her own. Leslie went through her own divorce with two young children in 1994, has been raising her granddaughter since 2011, and has recently helped her aging parents move into an assisted living facility.

Leslie and her husband, Craig, have been married for more than 20 years. They have a son, Jack, who is a Boettcher scholar at the University of Denver, an middle schooler, Leah, who loves unicorns and boy crushes, and a daughter, Erin, and son-in-law, Lee, who live nearby in Englewood with their young son, Finn. In her free time, Leslie enjoys babysitting her precious grandson, volunteering at the Denver Rescue Mission, running, gardening, vacationing with Craig in Cabo, event planning for friends and family.
